Post weather drama

September 17th, 2008 by Jacque

The mandatory evacuation was lifted and we came home to assess the situation and the damages. We were very lucky. The girls’ trampoline was totaled by a tree and there was a lot of trees damaged and debris, but the house was fine. There was some heavy damages to the barns, but it could have been so much worse and we are all pretty thankful it wasn’t any of the houses.

Sadly, we aren’t expected to have power until sometime next week which is more miserable because of lack of water than any other reason. Thank God for the Holiday Inn though we did have to travel a few towns over to find a vacancy. More later from the next hotel room. Hugs!

I’m so glad to hear that it wasn’t wors for you! I’ve been thinking so of you during the last days. I don’t know exactly where you live, just somewhere in Texas, but it seems like Ike were more or less everywhere.

Hope you will be back in normal life soon!

so sorry about the damage and being displaced, but I am glad things are for the most part “ok.” I feel bad about the trampoline, tho! My kids live on ours and would be just devastated! I’ll cross my fingers for a quick return of power.

Wow - I’m so glad you were spared major damage to the house! Hang in there, and enjoy having someone else to make the bed for a few days. :)

Glad to hear that Ike spared your family. I hope that the power comes back sooner than later. If my little efficiency apartment could handle all of the knitting community that has been affected by Ike I would have all of you stay here. Alas, I cannot, so I offer you my sincerest prayers that your recovery is speedy and that life as it once was returns to your community ASAP!

So glad to hear that you are all well and that your home is fine too. Sending well wishes your way and hoping the power comes on quicker than they estimate.

I’m just glad you and yours are safe. Everything else is just details. (PITA details, to be sure, but…)
