The sun also sets…
So for part three of the 11 part series, A look at the colors of Shokay I present Himalayan sunset.
Shokay Shambala in Himalayan Sunset
100% pure yak down yarn
100g / 164 yds, 6 ply
knits up to 4 stitches/inch
suggested needle size: US 9 (5.5mm)
–I like it on 8’s–
I have an orange zippered hoodie with 3/4 sleeves in my closet I bought some time ago, and I love it. Of course it isn’t made of yak and the color of orange is a little bit over the top. Not neon-80’s flashback- orange, but a bit high school at the very least.
The Himalayan Sunset sends a different message completely. This an orange for the more sophisticated, a rich creamy orange, a pumpkin color really. It is just right. Not too loud or vibrant or too blah either. I’m thinking my zippered hoodie is in need of replacement… And fall colos were huge at fashion week this year so this could be the perfect color for setting a trend.
The second picture of the knitted swatch is a better representation of the color!

Ohh..I love that color. I fell in love with the color actually through a nice cardigan too. Cream colored edgings would be great with that. I would love to see that made into a hoodie, it must be so soft. (course if I made a hoodie out of stuff like that, my husband would probably steal it from me.)

Beautiful! The orange makes me think of cream soda. It’ll look very pretty and sophisticated once you knit it up.
