Color me happy…

100_2700.JPGThere’s a sofa in here for two.

See…I told you it was gorgeous. Here are a  few pics of the colors taken outside, and here’s a rundown:

Keep in mind that I like colors. They inspire me, they make me happy. They make me feel warm and cozy. Every room in my home is painted something different, and I’m not talking white, taupe and ivory (though I do have 2 walls that are studio taupe). Just an idea of my interior colors… vesuvian garnet, bison, peacock, dulce de leche, fox red, pumpkin muffin, deep olive, lipstick red, basil…you get the picture.

100_2704.JPGAlpine- I thought this was going to be plain old off- white but it is more of a creamy ivory like a bisque or a creme brulee. Very rich. I normally avoid this color but I really can’t wait to do some serious cables with this yarn.

Dusty wind- more silver than heathery grey. Probably my least favorite of the colors but it is a lovely color that I would use to complement one of the others.

Dusk- a true navy and a lovely one that even I would wear.

Himalayan sunset- I know some people that would never consider wearing orange but this one is really gorgeous. It is not shockingly bright, but this is what makes me think it would make a great pullover. The shade is a very becoming pumpkin.

100_2702.JPGNocturne- A nice basic black which I love to wear but hate to knit with.

Meadow- If you love green you’ll love this one- I certainly do. A nice preppy Kelly green that I would wear in a heartbeat.

Earth- this is probably my favorite of the bunch. I love brown and this one is a warm cocoa color which I’m really excited about because design details won’t get lost in it like they sometimes do with a deep brown.

100_2703.JPGOrchid- this pink isn’t as loud as the pic shows. it really is like an orchid, with a lot of purple value. It is a cool pink if that makes any sense. My ladybug likes this the best and she is the pink queen in our house.

Regal- The color in the picture is on the mark. I would call this a grown up’s purple and the name really suits it. No Barney here to be sure.

Cranberry- This is a beautiful deep “Aggie” maroon. It is more burgundy than crimson and I am coveting a sweater of my own out of it.

Azure- This is the one that really surprised me. When I saw it online I was meh about it because you know how I feel about blues. This is not a typical blue. This is deep, gorgeous, peacock, carribean, teal, oceany blue-green and I’m so glad I got to see it or I never would have chosen it for a project for myself.

So IMHO Shokay really hit the mark with their debut colors and I hope they will eventually expand to include more colors into the line. More Shokay details tommorrow…

TODAY”S TELL ME A FUNNY…

This lady walks to work everyday and on her way to and from work she

passes by a pet shop that has a parrot out front. Everyday on her way

to and from work this parrot squawk “Honey, bless your heart, you sure

are ugly”. This goes on and on for several months, finally the lady

decides to take a vacation. She enters the shop to explain her

situation and demands that the owner does something with that darn

parrot while she is gone on vacation. Well the owner explains that the

parrot has been a beloved family pet for many, many years but promises

that he will do something about it before she returns. She goes on her

vacation and enjoys herself then returns to work. She is approaching

that petshop with that darn bird. She gets to the shop and she just

knows this bird is gonna tell her how ugly she is. She stops next to

the bird and says “WELL?!” The bird looks at her and, with attitude,

responds “Honey you know I don’t have to tell you!”
