Where to begin?

March 8th, 2007 by Jacque

First and foremost I want to thank everyone for commenting on my latest FO. That is what makes this whole knit bloggy thing so much fun. Also thanks for the opinions and offers of help on Lady E. My knit sisters (and brothers, Hey Will-ma) out there are the greatest ever.

Next, and certainly of great importance…did you see, did you see? It’s up! Squeee! Okay, can you tell how excited I am? First of all, my Knitty pattern is up. I don’t know if anyone will ever want to knit it, but I’m sure pleased as punch. Hey Mickey was a terribly fun knit and a good intro to short rows, and there are so many things you can do to personalize it, plus my little Ladybug was a superb model. Did y’all see her working her “pensive” look. Or was that “Pouty”? What a little ham. Truth be told she was probably hacked off with me for making her pose outdoors in tights in mid-August. Do you realize how hot it is here in August? The reason we were doing a backyard photo shoot in August is that I originally submitted it for winter, thus the tights. It does work better as a spring pattern though, duh. What was I thinking?

I just saw your pattern on Knitty, and it ROCKS! I have been looking for a skirt pattern for my 4yo, and couldn’t find anything. I’m off to start yours right now!

I really love your pattern too. Isn’t it great how little girls can look gorgeous in outfits that we old woman can’t possibly wear? Like a short, bright pink, skirt with stripped tights. Or maybe I just need to break free of my navy suits. We should send an adult version of that outfit to Hillary Clinton to take her beyond the pastel pantsuit. Anyway, I love both versions and I’ll get started on it right after I get the pink ponchos finished (I have a 3.5yr old girl).Catherine

Congratulations on your pattern in Knitty! I love short rows (I think, I like the look certainly, but have to master the wraps…) and I have any number of loud er strong/vibrant colours to work something up for my niece!
