99 bottles of beer on the wall…

February 22nd, 2007 by Jacque

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour

1/2 cup sugar

12 oz. can or bottle of beer (I used Shiner 97 Bohemian Black Lager)

1 stick of butter

honey

Mix flour, sugar, and beer. Stir until blended and pour into greased loaf pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and poke holes in top with a fork. Combine melted butter with honey to taste. por over hot loaf. Return to oven for 15 minutes.

I have made this easy bread countless times with all kinds of beer and it is always good. Light colored beer tends to taste better with butter only, but dark beers are great with the extra kick from the honey. Enjoy with my compliments.

Wow, so much to talk about! I’m not a jogger either, but I suggest you warm up to exercising in short 10-to-15-minute segments. Just take a walk around the block or do something in front of your TV during a commercial. The idea is to move, not just sit (I know, hard for a knitter). All those little moments add up to quite a bit at the end of the day. Before long, if you don’t get exercise, you miss it. Trust me! Thanks for the bread recipe. It looks yummy. And your sweater is lovely. Can’t wait to see you model it!

I just want to give you an “AMEN”. I am currently shopping for a treadmill myself; however, there will be no running. I find that it is a whole lot easier walking at a fast pace say 2.5-3.5 miles an hour. It gives you a great cardio work out without all the running. I would suggest one that you can program to walk X-amount of steps or have the option to do a pre-programmed walk.
