Math…really?
So I mostly knitted swatches and things this weekend and worked pattern math-YUK! I would just love to see the looks on my past math teachers & professors faces if someone told them that I had to do extensive math (with formulas-double YUK) to do what it is that I love doing. Hey I even triple check my work and I keep my scratch paper to show my work–old habits die hard. They’d probably run for the hills if they even believed me. What’s funny is that despite my constant whining I kinda’ like math as relates to knitting.
Oh and I’ve been promising a “welcome to my new place,”contest so If you’re a lurker please join in. I promise I don’t bite, and I love making new bloggy friends. I want to get to know you. If I already know you, of course you welcome (and expected, ha,ha) to participate. And away we go…

10. A funny…
This lady walks to work everyday and on her way to and from work she passes by a pet shop that has a parrot out front. Everyday on her way to and from work this parrot squawk “Honey, bless your heart, you sure are ugly”. This goes on and on for several months, finally the lady decides to take a vacation. She enters the shop to explain her situation and demands that the owner does something with that darn parrot while she is gone on vacation. Well the owner explains that the parrot has been a beloved family pet for many, many years but promises that he will do something about it before she returns. She goes on her vacation and enjoys herself then returns to work. She is approaching that petshop with that darn bird. She gets to the shop and she just knows this bird is gonna tell her how ugly she is. She stops next to the bird and says “WELL?!” The bird looks at her and, with attitude, responds “Honey you know I don’t have to tell you!”

1. WHAT ARE YOU KNITTING NOW? (tell me all anout it)
What am I not knitting!? Hehe, I’m trying to finish the first socks. I’ve cast on and ripped out Branching Out ten times this week and decided we needed some alone time to think about what we did wrong. Then I cast on some Llamajama yarn for my sister’s baby to knit up some longies. It’s pure gorgeous. There’s a ton of pictures on my blog. I hope to finish the socks this weekend and cast on for some new ones.
2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR?
Purple! Actually I like all colors except the browns and darker greens or muddy looking colors.
3. WHAT ARE YOU READING? (if you aren’t reading anything then share your fave knitting book/mag)
I am reading law review articles for school. The best one is by Paul Butler about race-based jury nullification. It’s pretty fascinating.
4. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?
I have been listening to Shiny Toy Guns lately.
5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KNITTING PATTERN & WHY?
Calorimetry, it’s a quick pick-me-up weekend pattern, a hair fixer and a stash buster, and a gift fixer all in one.
6. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE AND/OR TV SHOW?
I’m liking the Tudors right now.
7. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?
Wasabi peas! I love food, if I ever had my own etsy shop I would sell yarn in colorways named after vegetables and fruits.
8. IN WHAT STYLE DO YOU KNIT?
Crazy go nuts style! Actually, I think it’s Continental.
9.WHAT IS YOUR “SIGNATURE” THING–SOMETHING YOU’RE INTO THAT REALLY SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU? (As by now you may have guessed, for me it’s leopard print)
Buttons. I like to sew buttons randomly on my finished pieces. My favorites are from Peace Fleece, they had cat buttons awhile back. I have a huge lust list of buttons on etsy.
10. TELL ME A FUNNY (Your fave joke, a funny story, whatever, but you get extra points if you can make me laugh aloud)
It’s long….
The 5 questions most feared by men are: 1…What are you thinking about? 2…Do you love me? 3…Do I look fat? 4…Do you think she is prettier than me? 5…What would you do if I died?
What makes these questions so difficult is that every one is guaranteed to explode into a major argument if the man answers incorrectly(i.e., tells the truth).
As a public service, each question is analyzed below, along with possible Responses.
Question # 1: What are you thinking about?
The proper answer to this, of course, is: “I’m sorry if I’ve been pensive, dear. I was just reflecting on what a warm, wonderful, thoughtful, caring, intelligent woman you are, and how lucky I am to have met you.” This response obviously bears no resemblance to the true answer, which most likely is one of the following: a…Baseball. b…Football. c…How fat you are. d…How much prettier she is than you. e…How I would spend the insurance money if you died.
Perhaps the best response to this question was offered by Al Bundy, who once told Peg, “If I wanted you to know what I was thinking, I would be talking to you!”
Question # 2: Do you love me?
The proper response is: “YES!” or, if you feel a more detailed answer is in order, “Yes, dear.” Inappropriate responses include: a…Oh Yeah, crap loads. b…Would it make you feel better if I said yes? c…That depends on what you mean by love. d…Does it matter? e…Who, me?
Question # 3: Do I look fat?
The correct answer is an emphatic: “Of course not!” Among the incorrect answers are: a…Compared to what? b…I wouldn’t call you fat, but you’re not exactly thin. c…A little extra weight looks good on you. d…I’ve seen fatter. e…Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I would spend the insurance money if you died.
Question # 4: Do you think she’s prettier than me?
Once again, the proper response is an emphatic: “Of course not!” Incorrect responses include:
a…Yes, but you have a better personality. b…Not prettier, but definitely thinner. c…Not as pretty as you when you were her age. d…Define pretty. e…Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I would spend the insurance money if you died.
Question # 5: What would you do if I died?
A definite no-win question.(The real answer, of course, is “Buy a Corvette and a Boat”). WARNING: No matter how you answer this, be prepared for at least an hour of follow-up questions, usually along the these lines:
WOMAN: Would you get married again? MAN: Definitely not! WOMAN: Why not-don’t you like being married? MAN: Of course I do. WOMAN: Then why wouldn’t you remarry? MAN: Okay, I’d get married again. WOMAN: You would? (with a hurtful look on her face) WOMAN: Would you sleep with her in our bed? MAN: Where else would we sleep? WOMAN: Would you put away my pictures, and replace them with pictures of her? MAN: That would seem like the proper thing to do. WOMAN: And would you let her use my golf clubs? MAN: She can’t use them; she’s left-handed WOMAN: - - - silence - - - MAN: Oh ( expletive deleted).
