Think Pink
This week flew by without my even noticing it. It started with post-strep anxiety about all the things I didn’t get done while I laid on the couch. I had the house cleaned and the washing machine repaired mid-week which means I should actually be caught up with the laundry sometime today. I got an article written and a few patterns typed up, and believe it or not some actual knitting done–a group project I’m working on with a few other knit bloggers that I can’t say much about yet.
So here I am at the beginning of the weekend and it’s time to start a new project. My brain has been in overdrive lately so I think I’ll cast on for the Hey Mickey or Zodiac I promised to Shokay. I was planning to do a Virgo version of the Zodiac pattern in dusk and dusty wind, but I’ve seen alot of people who were interested in seeing a different design on the baby sack. I’m thinking a classic initial or Monagram would be just the thing. Any ther suggestions? I am also planning to add a mod to the Shokay version for a side zipper. I’m still toying with colors for the Mickey–so many possibilities there.
Shokay Shambala in Orchid
100% pure yak down yarn
100g / 164 yds, 6 ply
knits up to 4 stitches/inch
suggested needle size: US 9 (5.5mm)
–I like it on 8’s–
The first picture is a bit on the bright side.
This close up captures the shade more accurately. I’m not that into pinks but this one has a little purple to it. It would be gorgeous next to the dusk or nocturne and I am planning to pair it with Himalayan Sunset for a prim little girl’s cardigan with a bit of sass called “Little Lady.” “Lady will be the adult version of the same cardi. Look for both of these designs soon.
