Zebedee do dah…

December 8th, 2007 by Jacque

Ever find a ribbon that just begs to be used but you don’t know what for?I’ve got a solution.

This hat is a quick, fun knit in a bulky yarn (or double strands of worsted yarn). The graduated eyelet increases that spiral towards the top of the hat look especially quirky when laced with ribbon and topped with a funky pouf and the technique is simple enough for a newer knitter to try. I’ve sized it all the way from infant to adult male, but for guys or the faint of heart work the hat in a combination of plain textured yarns and skip the ribbons and bows. Boucle yarns work beautifully!

The yarn shown is some  Manetto Hills Yarnery “Bolero” that I came across in a sale bin one day. The same yarn was used for both hats but the ribbon really emphasizes the different shades.
