Sucked into the vortex

August 3rd, 2007 by Jacque

It has happened to all of us in one way or another at some point…

100_1729_2.jpgYou have a million little everyday things to do and one by one they are falling by the wayside. One enormous group project that you’ve just spent a small chunk of time reading and re-reading for errors is finally sent to the people who make the big decisions- it’s fate relatively unknown. Another project that has screamed at you to pick it up every time you walk past to edit the other project- it is dying to get off the needles already. Still another project that is but an idea is making it’s way from two separate locations in the form of yarn and beads-you are hoping it Fed Ex and the US Postal Service come through soon so there is maybe enough time to make it a reality before the submission deadline (which is only a month away-yikes), and already making back up plans in case it does not. And let’s not forget the project you planned for a month ago but have since decided needed to be tweaked (aka redesigned).

So now there is a mountain sized pile of clean laundry heaped on my couch that is in need of folding. Sadly the mountain part was not an exaggeration…Well maybe a little. Hill would be more accurate but mountain just sounds better eh?Fortunately the maid just cleaned the house and the dishes are clean. The yard guy is coming to do the lawn in the morning so it will be nice for the weekend. I really should go buy groceries- ooh fun. Did I mention the laundry on the couch was clean and that there are only 2 loads until I’m caught up? I get major points for that.

So it is understandable why I haven’t shown my face much around here, or the coffee shop, or ravelry, or any of my other haunts.

yoke increasesThe project that is screaming to be finished is much further along now than in the picture. Also the red isn’t nearly so red. Indoor flash photography, what’re you gonna’ do? So I had so many interruptions during the 5 ball juggling yoke section that I thought I would never finish. I’m hoping I can have the pattern available soon.

    Yup, you’ve been busy.

Can you e-mail me your snail mail address (or whichever address the knitting is supposed to go to)?

I am ever so grateful for all of the extra project work you’ve done. Here’s hoping you get spewed from the vortex sucking and have some relaxing time this weekend (to knit of course)!

And that cat photo is cool. Now I wanna go play with my Photoshop…but I don’t think my version will do that.

Vyvyan is right. You have been awesome and we are so thankful!

I know how you are feeling. I have two finals coming up and I am toying with the idea of going back to work… I need to relax. Maybe a cup of tea will work or better yet a nice glass of red! You should come over and have one too.

I hope you have a good weekend.

PS. Aren’t you proud of me, I finally got an account so I could post :)

Jacque, I fully understand the vortex situation. I’ve been missing your posts, but understand how life gets in the way of it. I miss you! Thanks for the pictures of the girls! Such beautiful children. Currently I’m rewashing the load of laundry that I forgot to put into the dryer last evening. Arghh.

Thanks, guys! I am happy the editing has past and I’ve been missing you all too. Now if I can only get a chance to cath up on all my blog surfing.

That photo rocks! I sure hope you’ve managed to achieve some escape velocity by now.
