Design break

May 9th, 2007 by Jacque

designing-himalaya.JPGI know you all must think I’ve skipped the country, but I am still here and taking a much needed breather from knitting. I hope you’ve enjoyed everyone’s funnies from the blog contest and didn’t mind terribly that I substituted them for regularly scheduled bloggy posts. I am out of funnies for the time being, but am happy to report that the two designs I was working on for Shokay to take to TNNA are done. I have been knitting day and night to get them completed and am so happy they are finished. I will be publishing the patterns here within the next week or so, so come back and check them out and don’t be shy about commenting. I really want to know what you think.  I also am planning to knit a few quick swatches and test them out with different blocking methods, washing methods, and so forth–probably sometime next week. The next project on the docket for Shokay is also going to be submitted to Knitty for consideration for the Fall issue so I won’t get to share all the details about it just yet.

I also have a pattern that I mentioned some time back was going to Magknits. It’s a quick summer knit in a divine yarn that will add a little elegance to your summer wardrobe. According to Kerrie it should appear in the July issue so keep an eye out.

Before I forget, I wanted to mention that I am still in the process of shipping the free yarn you all so kindly agreed to take off my hands. Another couple of trips to the post office should get them all on their way so if you haven’t gotten a package and are worried that is probably why, but don’t hesitate to shoot me an email if you want to know for sure.

Busy as a honey bee huh? Glad to hear that you are doing so well with your designs. I will be keeping my fingers crossed in hopes that your design gets picked to be in Knitty!

Love the stitch markers- they will be perfect for knitting that yarn up - already have a pattern in mind, but trying to finish my socks so I can start a pair for my Dad for father’s day ( my mum is not getting handmade this year).
