Wilton dyed yarn
I had about 1300 some odd yards of virgin worsted wool lying around just dying to be dyed, so I decided to get my first taste of dyeing with cake colors. My dyeing experience thus far has been only Kool-aid, but I have to say I was a little disappointed with the fact that I used Brown, Copper, Red and Burgundy and somehow got alot of blue.
Have I mentioned how much I detest the color blue?Well I really, really hate blue. Teal and greenish blues I actually like, but they’ve gotta’ have alot of green.
Anyway, it would seem that the packaged colors separate into whatever pigments are in them, so from now on I’m going to use yarn specific dyes for my projects. The yarn is pretty if a little odd in it’s color scheme.
I had intended to make Lady Eleanor from Scarf Style but I’m not so sure about the colors for me and it seems like a good-sized project to do without someone in particular in mind. Who knows we’ll just have to see.
