I finished my first Clapotis

ONLY 6 MORE DAYS UNTIL BABY… YIPEE!

Well, I did it! My first Clapotis is done and I love it. You can’t tell much from the picture with it doubled over the hanger, but my bathroom door was the only place to display it as it is a little on the long side. I used a double strand ofKnitpicks Shimmer in Happy Dance and would so make another out of this gawwgeous stuff. It is really soft and drapey. I was sweating it at the end because it really looked as if I would run out but the laceweight yarn (this is my first experience with it) pulled an Energizer on me and just kept going and going. I knit it exactly as the pattern said and had about three yards left over.

Here’s a better close up shot. The pooling isn’t too bad IMO, but I still wish it were non-existant. Anyway, next time I would go ahead and order a fourth ball and do more increase rows to widen it so it would be more of a wrap, but it is lovely the way it is. I love the way the diagonal dropped stitches allow it to change shape depending on how it is warm. This beauty is definitely accompanying me to the hospital next week.

Oh, and I had to include this. Can you believe these two lazy bums? They slept like that most of the afternoon. The only time either of them opened their eyes was when the other began to breathe too loud. In my next life I really do want to come back as one of my pets.

Your Clapotis is beautiful, and I always say I want to come back as one of my cats. They have the same fantastic life, I tell you. Good luck with your delivery.
