Playing Catch Up

Okay one of the main reasons I decide I needed a blog was so I could get feedback from other knitters on my projects, knitting problemos etc…and I liked this type of knitting journal in addition to my technical one (y’know the composition book filled to the brim with all my little secrets… well the ones I remembered to write down anyways. Anyway, so the only way I could bring you all up to date was to back track so here comes everything I’ve knit to date starting with the very first project and ending with the most recent stuff.

This sweater is Ciara from Berrocco. As you can see I am one of those people who believes that you should always jump in feet first into anything so instead of doing the smart thing and knitting scarves, and potholders, etc, I decided to jump in the deep end and knit this sweater. I got all my knitting supplies for Christmas that year and I remeber starting this the day after and it being easy…However, this was how I learned all about the importance of gauge. That is why the sweater is so humongulosized it could fit at least one other member of my family. In it’s defense it is very soft, perfect for cuddling up on the couch when you’ve got a cold and I’ll always keep as a reminder of where I began.

Then I made a 2 skein Homespun hoodie also off the Lion Brand website’s free patterns. Alot of people hate this yarn, but I like it especially what they refer to as the painterly shades ( the ones that have suble color changes). This stuff is cheap especially when you find it on clearance which I always have, and it’s pretty soft, not to mention that it washes really well.
