I’m feeling the holiday spirit…
Any and all who know me know that I am a holiday addict. Fall and Winter are without a doubt my favorite seasons. It probably has something to do with the change in temperature(though usually slight in my neck of the woods). Anyway, on August the 31st you can find me hanging fall leaves and pulling out all my cats and witches to parade around my house. I fire up the pumpkin candles and start craving candied apples. So a few years ago I began to decorate early for Christmas as well and no, I’m not talking about December the first. I like to pull out all my Christmas stuff about the same time most stores do and so it is a running joke with my family whether this year I will actually decorate for Christmas before Halloween is over. Well folks this year I did it. I actually put up my trees on the night before Halloween as Ladybug, Cupcake, and I watched the Nightmare before Christmas.
I know you probably think I’m crazy (my loved ones certainly do), but come December 25th I am the most relaxed woman on the block. My presents get wrapped as the enter the house and go directly under the tree. No hiding gifts here (of course if I hid them I’d probably never find them again). So instead of knitting lately I’ve been decorating and making shopping lists, and baking lists and so on. Hopefully my efforts will help avoid the stress. So now that that obligation is done I can try and get some knitting done, that is if the girls let me. I haven’t even touched my yarn for two weeks. I’m having withdrawls…but I’ve got big plans for my Christmas wish list. I’m guessing santa is familiar with Knitpicks?

Here’s the girls’ sweets themed tree. All candy and cookies. Very Yummy!
And this is my first year to actually put it up, but this is my Harry potter tree which is in dire need of more stuff, but it’s a work in progress of course.

What beautiful trees! I think I like the Harry Potter tree the best. What gave you that idea?

Thanks Rachel. I started collecting HP ornaments not long after hallmark started releasing them and the idea grew from there. I couldn’t bear to make Harry reside on a tree with just any old decorations and the idea of leaving them in their boxes undisplayed was too sad.
