yoooohoooo…I’m still here

Okay, so baby brother has guilted me into posting since I’ve been neglecting my blog as of late, and okay I admit it I have been. To say that I have been mad busy is the understatement of the year, but all is under control now and I have picked up the needles. There was actually a moment or two where I sat looking at my needles and yarn and thought “WTF, I don’t remember what to do” It’s like those moments when you forget how to spell “if” or “very”. You know you’re spelling it right but it just looks wrong. Don’t even act like you haven’t been there. You know you have. Anyway, I got past the rough spot and turned out these. Another pair of fetching in Wool of the Andes firecracker heather.
Okay so this is part of a set that was intended for yours truly, until my grandmother saw it and decided she wanted one too. “Okay Mammaw, no problem. What color do you want your set in?” I asked. “Well, I like that color. Yes I want mine in that color,” she answered innocently as I rolled my eyes at the idea of knitting a whole other set in exactly the same color. Soooo Mammaw will get this set and I ordered some loverly vanilla merino for mine. So at the end of the day we all win. Anyway, progress on the Irish hiking scarf is slow, but it’s coming along. I’m seriously, seriously ready to start something else and I’m afraid the ribbed tassel vest is on hold indefinitely. I’m just not into it, so I’ll sit rubbing my hands together with an evil grin as I wait patiently for all my new Christmas yarns, patterns, and books to arrive so I can start on something new. It’s not like I don’t have four X-large rubbermaid containers full to the brim with stash yarn, and projects just waiting to be knit, but the new stuff is so much more fun as we all know, so I wait.
