Uno mas…well dos, actually
This is another Lion Brand free pattern. They call it 4-hour bias baby afghan, and it is knit on hunormous size 50 needles called Speed Stix. I followed the diagonal pattern but was working with stash yarn so began to decrease when I saw that I was halfway through my supply. This was a super easy quick knit.It will be my go-to baby pattern in the future when life seems too busy to knit baby gifts for others.
I used three skeins of Lion Homespun in discontinued Mardi Gras doubled throughout and Caron Simply Soft in Grape, Blue Mint, Papaya, and Mango. All together I was working with 6 strands. The blanket is a little too heavy for a new baby, but would make an excellent and soft play mat, which is how I intend to use mine.
Some more mindless knitting. I have to admit that I have no idea how I knitted this cap. It has a nifty little band that sits a little like a sailor hat though its not at all like one. The actual hat part is a little pouffy. and the flower at the top was fashioned from I-cord, Curly crochet chains, a crochet bobble and a couple of crochet leaves. The booties are from my fave pattern: lettuce edge booties from Knit Baby Head & Toes, though these have a short cuff and no luttuce.

Love the leaves. It’s a happy baby hat!
