There’s much more where this came from.

Then I came to the conclusion that I should conquer my fear of double pointed needles and knit a sock. So I ordered pure wool sock yarn off of ebay and waited impatiently for it to arrive. when it did I looked at it skeptically. It came in 4 hanks all ready for dyeing, but it smelled…odd. You have to understand that up until this point in my life I’d never come face to face with actual wool. If Hobby Lobby or Walmart weren’t carrying it then I was without a clue. So I was in awe of why I heard so many knitters going on and on about natural fibers. I mean in my opinion this stuff was worse than Red Heart, but I forged ahead (both feet in the pool remember?). So the next day my little ladybug and I proceeded to dye it with Kool-aid, and wrinkled our noses at the foul odors of yukky wet wool and about 10 different fruity flavors of kool-aid as they mingled in my kitchen. The dye job was very interesting to say the least and once it was done I proceeded with my sock. I figured if I wasn’t going to wear them at least I could learn with the itchy stuff. Well I got through one sock and I’ve never knit another though I’ve tried repeatedly to become a sock knitter I always frog them before they’re done.

Then I made the Big Bad Baby Blanket from SNB, but I had to recalculate the pattern to fit my gauge. I used two worsted yarns: one tweed and one halo-y together throughout. I was finished with it in maybe three days which was nice since it was last minute gift for a baby of some family friends (procrastination, don’tcha know!).

I made Berrocco’s free Cutie Patootie for the same baby, but I added about seven inches to the length so it would be more of a gown. I also omitted the buttonholes & buttons in favor of a brooch.
