Nuttin’ but baby stuff

I love the lace pattern from this had & have used it elsewhere. BTW this hat fit Ladybug (who is 3) very tightly though it is sized for a newborn. I am making Ladybug one of her own with a few more lace repeats. The booties are from the same place as every other bootie on this site…You guessed Knit Baby Head & Toes lettuce edge bootie. It is definitely the cutest, easiest, quickest knit, best sized bootie for a newborn IMO.

This is the famous Kool-aid sock yarn paired with variegated orange fuzzy fur from Target. I was attempting to see if the end result could be softened up a bit, and to test the pattern for the lace edged booties from Knit Baby Head & Toes. I altered the bootie pattern but was totally pleased with the end result.
The hat was kind of a work in progress. I wanted a 14″ hat (a better size for newborns IMO)but first I wanted it to have the lettuce edge that the booties had so I figured out my cast on stitches and multiplied that number by 4, which gave me my new CO number. after casting on I K2, and passed the first st over the second all the way down the row. Next row I P2tog across. I did this ruffled bit in the Kool-aid yarn alone. I added the strand of fuzzy fur on the next row and started the actual hat. I wanted to have a hat that had a bit of a cone at the top so when I had decreased the stitches considerably and was reaching the end I worked and extra row of Stst in between decrease rows. I thought it turned out cute.
