More for the bambinos
I bought only one skien of this yarn as well as one in the M08 colorway while on the trip from hell. We had to evacuate to San Antonio whenever hurricane was supposed to land smack dab on top of us. The trip was a crappy one, but I got to go to my first real yarn store (Heaven…I’m in Heaven…and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak…). I picked up some loverly superwash merino on that trip and thus the love affair with soft natural fibers began. It is the umbilical cord hat from SNB, but I had to recalculate it because I never could get the gauge right, and I had to resize it besides. I used Arucania Atacama Nature Alapaca color M20. Since some people are a little sensitive to certain fibers I didn’t want to take any chances with the bambino and I paired it with some of the lilac fuzzy fur yarn from Target’s dollar spot to really add softness.
The booties are the lettuce edged booties from Knit Baby Head & Toes. I altered the pattern to suit my taste, of course and I liked the end result alot better than the picture. I liked the pattern so much that I knit a pair of them in several colors. I didn’t take pics before and then I decided I wanted to felt them. The set turned out cute, but I liked it better before they were felted. They were much fuzzier.
I knit this with the leftover ball and a half of denimstyle that I had from Ciara. It really is soft. I found the free pattern at dogsstealyarn.com The yarn makes it hard to see the details, but it turned out well and was mindlessly easy knitting at it’s best.
